World Habitat Day - Monday, October 2
Please contact your legislative representatives in all levels of government and remind them that affordable housing is a serious need here in our community.

While increased demand in the rental market is helping to drive recovery from the Great Recession the number of cost burden renters is at a historical high as 11.4 million people still struggle to afford a decent place to rent.
The devastation of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have left thousands of families homeless and broken. Habitat volunteers are onsite and have begun the process of cleanup and providing encouragement to the families who have lost so much.
Crystal is one of Habitat’s newest soon to be homebuyers. Crystal is the hard-working mother of an 18 year old son who is legally deaf. Both are very excited to be moving in their new home this February. Crystal applied to the program some two years before she was able to begin her journey.
Habitat for Humanity launched its neighborhood revitalization efforts over the past three years and has completed more than 75 home repair projects. Our initial focused neighborhood was the Paradise community in Fort Mill.
Do you have a favorite tip or trick to help homeowners save time, money or repairs? Share yours with the Habitat community including new Habitat homeowners.

In return, In return, we’ll send your our “Top 5 Home Hints for Fall” next Thursday, October 5 (as long as you submit your tip before then!). We’ll also email you our free “DIY Homeowner Tips” guide, compiled from supporters like you, when it’s ready.
Please join us as we celebrate you, our volunteers and partners for supporting Habitat’s mission of providing decent and affordable housing for children and families. Thank you to First Presbyterian Church of Rock Hill for hosting this event.
