Here's how to celebrate your own garden on the Fourth of July, and all summer long...
Greetings!
With long sunshine-filled days and endless warm nights, summer is the season to savor what your garden has to offer. Here are some ways to enjoy that space you've worked so hard on...
1. Plant Some Flowering Shrubs for Accent
If you'd like to attract more birds and butterflies to your back yard consider planting a flowering shrub. Spirea is an excellent choice. The pink blooms attract bees, butterflies and other helpful insects, making it a convenient choice for a butterfly garden. Hummingbirds might even pay this shrub a visit.

2. Grab a Good Book
You've had that stack of books on your shelf for months...now is a perfect time to find a quiet spot in your yard and start your summer reading. A peaceful reading spot can be an oasis in the midst of a busy week.
3. Switch up Your Morning Routine
Even if you have only five minutes, bring your cup of coffee and slice of toast outside to enjoy in the backyard. Perhaps you want to take this time to practice mindfulness, or you may just want to sit back, relax and watch the birds flit among the garden beds. If you’re off to work, you may notice that you feel more calm and centered by starting your day in nature.
4. Celebrate in the Backyard on the 4th and All Summer Long
This is the time of year we celebrate with each other. With a few easy, inexpensive updates, your garden can feel like a new festive spot. Try putting up lights, hanging a paper garland or traditional bunting, bringing out some colorful throw pillows, or investing in a movable fire pit.
If you've been considering adding a flowering shrub to your yard or garden please check out CL Fornari's blog this week. In it she talks about the right shrub for the right place, when they bloom, and more. Click here to view the blog or scroll down for more.

And once you've read her blog, check out our weekend FLASH sale on flowering shrubs. We're taking 25% off all flowering shrubs from 7/1-7/4. Some exclusions apply, please scroll on for more. And there are more ways to save too...keep reading.
