December 2019 at Place des Arts
Home to our arts community
The holidays are just around the corner, and to celebrate we have plenty of activities and events to help you get in the spirit.

Our Reflections: A Celebration of Cultural Diversity event is on Sunday, December 8. Bring the whole family to enjoy storytelling, music, lantern making and a tea salon to celebrate the many cultures that make up our community.

Our adult-only Festive Felting event is on December 6. This is a great opportunity for you and your friends to try something new while creating something you can easily gift.

Winter registration is already underway! With classes filling up quickly, don't delay and plan for the new year today.

Also, if you have some people to cross off your gift list, our Christmas Boutique is open until December 21! Stop by and see the many ornaments, jewelry, cards, homewares and decor we have on offer, made by artisans in our community. While you are here, make sure you take a look at our fantastic exhibits currently on display, including our popular Positively Petite: Annual Miniature Exhibition, now in it's 30th year. Our exhibitions are on view until December 19.

With so much going on, we hope to see you this December.

Happy holidays from the Place des Arts family to yours,

Celebrate Coquitlam's cultural diversity Reflections2019

On December 8, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm , join us to discover the diverse cultures and customs that make up our community. This free, family event highlights the cultural make-up of our city: Chinese, Korean, Persian and European.

Make lanterns based around these cultures traditions, hear music from Place des Arts students, see performances from a First Nations artist and enjoy a hot cup of tea.  This year our focus is humour, and how it brings things to light.

Our partners over at Mackin House are also hosting fun events including caroling with Amy Newman & The Christmas Revelers, heritage crafts and baking. Enjoy some hot chocolate and see what they have on offer with their Home Front: WWII exhibit.

This time of year is about reflection. Reflecting on your year, how you spent your time and on what is important to you.  Join us and bring your year to light.

Thank you to our sponsors for supporting this fun, family event:
