Take a holiday break at Reynolda with this special after hours opportunity to see the historic house lit up for Christmas and featuring — for the first time — authentic twentieth-century glass ornaments. On loan from the North Carolina Museum of Art, the collection of antique Christmas ornaments encompasses nearly four hundred figural glass ornaments that date from 1900 to 1930.

Guests will also enjoy live organ performances of Christmas carols and late-night shopping in the Museum store!

Unpack your fancy holiday glassware for a 1920s holiday cocktail re-imagined by mixologist Tim Nolan and sit back and learn the history of glass Christmas ornaments in the American South with Dr. Amber C. Albert. Sparkling visuals will augment the discussion of ornament production, traditions and artistry. Albert’s research interests include the material world of the rural South and today she serves as Reynolda’s manager of community and academic learning. Nolan is the co-owner of Fair Witness Fancy Cocktails in Winston-Salem and a long-time Reynolda program partner.

This year would’ve been Robin Voiers’ 34th consecutive year of performing her adaptation of Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memory at Reynolda. While we can’t join one another in the auditorium for her annual one-woman performance, you can join Robin remotely to learn about her journey as an artist and educator. Phil Archer, deputy director, will share archival recording clips and interview Voiers as she shares her memories of A Christmas Memory.
