February 2023

50 is fabulous! I'm celebrating a milestone birthday, and you can join the party!

turn 50 on February 14, and while it certainly has me reflecting on a half century of good, bad and meh days, I'm looking ahead to what the next 50 will bring.

I can't wait to see what my sons will accomplish. Travel is on my bucket list. I want to laugh more, stress less and spend more time with my grandchildren.

My birthday wishes include my work with shift_ed. One comes true this month as we move into our new offices in Downtown Greensboro. Our new space will be open for counseling and classes, and we can't wait to welcome you.

Also, this month, our first class of SEO Scholars will meet for the first time, our free spring SAT/ACT prep class happens, and the paint shop is putting the final touches on our Mobile Innovation Lab.

My youngest son and his friends are starting to make decisions about what they will do after high school and I'm proud that shift_ed will help many of them follow their dreams. Our scholarship portal is open now and the awards will impact GCS graduates in bold new ways.

I've had 50 pretty good trips around the sun, and I've got plans for the next 50+. I'm not planning to slow down; it's time to give this life a little more gas, and I hope you will join me. Make a gift to shift_ed and boldly accelerate student potential for the next 50 years.

Gratefully,

Wendy

Scholar Story

Makayla Key

“I love learning. I love seeing how other people think about things, and college is the perfect place to do that because there are so many people who think differently than you and come from different backgrounds.”
