A message from our Chief of Advanced Practice Providers
This week, we have the privilege of celebrating National Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) Week, with this year’s theme: "Racing Towards the Future: Celebrating APPs."
As we reflect on this week, it’s important to take a moment to honor the extraordinary role that APPs play in our healthcare system. APPs, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and certified nurse midwives, are not only highly skilled providers; they are the heart and soul of compassionate care. Each day, UCSF APPs make a profound difference in the lives of our patients, offering their expertise and kindness in ways that go beyond just medical care.
At the core of what we do, access is everything. APPs are often the first point of contact for many of our patients, ensuring they receive care quickly and with the compassion they deserve. They are there when it matters most, providing comfort and treatment without delay. With their dedication, patients don’t have to wait for months; they can see an APP when they need care, helping to guide patients through every step of their healthcare journey.
I invite you to join me in celebrating incredible advanced practice providers throughout UCSF, whose commitment to quality care, empathy, and patient advocacy is unwavering. Their work improves access to care and strengthens the very foundation of what we do. We are deeply grateful for their tireless efforts and the difference they make every single day.
Thank you for continuing to support and uplift UCSF’s APPs, who are truly at the forefront of providing compassionate, accessible care.
Ivette
