Heroes Among Us: Firefighters Honor New Eagle Scout

Amid the recent fires, we are reminded of the heroes in our community. Fire Station 82 in La Cañada is home to many of those heroes.

On his way to an Eagle Board of Review, one of our dedicated Rose Bowl District Eagle Board volunteers, Adam, stopped by Station 82 to personally thank the firefighters for their service. Dressed in his Scout uniform, he caught their attention, and they asked where he was headed. When Adam shared that he was on his way to conduct an Eagle Board of Review, the firefighters expressed interest in stopping by to congratulate the new Eagle Scout—if they were available.

True to their word, Fire Station 82 showed up to celebrate our newest Eagle Scout, Houston. Before leaving the station, Adam had given the fire crew an Eagle Challenge Coin, just in case they could make it. In a special moment, the Chief himself was able to present that coin to Houston.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible firefighters, and congratulations to Houston on this outstanding achievement!

Support for Scouters Impacted by the Wildfires

If you have been affected by the recent wildfires, we want you to know that Scouting is here to help. In response to the devastation, a support program was launched immediately after the fires to assist our community. Scouting units from across the country have come together to support you during this difficult time.

If you lost your uniform in the Eaton Fire or any other recent wildfire, uniform vouchers are available to help replace your gear. Submit your request through the "How can I get help from Scouting?" link, and we will make sure you have what you need to continue your Scouting journey as long as you were a registered Scouter and lost your home in the fire.

A heartfelt thank you to the Scouting units and individuals that have stepped up to offer support—your generosity truly embodies the spirit of Scouting. Together, we can help rebuild and recover with strength, hope, and community.
