Our High School Seniors are focused on College! Future 5 is back in full swing, with 70 College Prep high school seniors fully engaged in the college process. Each senior is working one-on-one with a College Coach to help navigate the application process, including working on essays, visiting campuses and seeking out financial aid and scholarships to make the most of their opportunities!

Meet Future 5's new Managing Director and Future 5 Alum, Marvin Louis!

Marvin graduated from Stamford High School in 2014 and has stayed closely connected to Future 5 throughout his college years at UConn, as a member of Alum 5, and as a Future 5 Board Member. Now Marvin has come full circle, joining Future 5 staff in a leadership position as Managing Director, after serving as the Unit Director of the Yerwood Center for the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford. In his new role, Marvin works closely with Amanda Dubois-Mwake, Future 5's Executive Director, to oversee daily operations and ensure that all programs run smoothly -- from student support to community partnerships. We are delighted to have Marvin on the Future 5 team!

Helping Hands at Fairgate Farm

Future 5 students rolled up their sleeves at Fairgate Farm, one of many local community organizations where Future 5 members give back -- this time learning about local plants and sustainability while weeding, mulching and picking vegetables. Fairgate Farm provides produce to Stamford residents on a "pay as you can" basis and features educational programs to encourage healthy eating and help mitigate food insecurity.

Speed Networking Connects High School Members to Volunteer Tutors

Future 5 kicked off the new school year with a speed networking session to introduce this year's incoming high school students to our many volunteer tutors. Students were able to connect on a personal level and find out about all of the possible tutoring options available as part of Future 5's academic resources, including coaching for SAT Prep!

Taking in a Yankees Game!

Thanks to Chip Perkins and Barry Small, special friends of Future 5, for making it possible for Future 5 members to experience a Yankees game firsthand, where students cheered on the team against the Baltimore Orioles. Enrichment activities at Future 5 give students exposure to culture, sports and events outside of the typical schedule, with team bonding along the way!

Future 5 helps connect motivated, under-resourced students in Stamford to the people and resources they need to achieve their educational, career and life goals.
