Our Communities, Our Stories: Celebrating 25 Years Together

The Municipality of Meaford is pleased to present Our Communities, Our Stories, a special gallery exhibition at Meaford Hall Arts & Cultural Centre, marking the 25th Anniversary of the Municipality’s amalgamation. Developed in partnership with the Meaford Museum, the exhibit celebrates the rich histories of the Town of Meaford, the former Township of St. Vincent, and the former Township of Sydenham, three communities that came together in 2001.

Running until January 31, the free exhibit features historic photographs, artifacts, and interpretive panels that highlight the stories of more than 30 local hamlets and villages. Residents and visitors are invited to explore how these communities shaped the Municipality we know today, while looking ahead to a shared future.

Adjustment to 2026 Mayor’s Budget Schedule

The timeline for the 2026 Mayor’s Budget has been adjusted to allow additional time for collaboration between Mayor Ross Kentner and municipal staff.

The Mayor’s Budget will be shared January 14, 2026 by 4:00 p.m., followed by budget review sessions in early February.

Recycling Collection Updates for 2026

Meaford’s recycling program has transitioned to Ontario’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system. Resident and business recycling collection will be overseen by Circular Materials, with Miller Waste Systems continuing curbside service.

2026 Dog Tags Now Available at a Discount

2026 dog tags are on sale at a discounted rate until March 31, 2026. Purchase online or stop by 21 Trowbridge St. W., Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please remember that rabies vaccination information is required with your application, and all dog owners must have and affix the annual municipal dog tag to their dog’s collar.

Download our New Waste App: Recycle Coach

A new waste and recycling app has been launched, replacing the Meaford Waste App.

Residents are encouraged to download Recycle Coach to access accurate and up-to-date information on garbage, recycling, and organics collection schedules. The app offers personalized reminders, real-time service alerts, and an easy “What Goes Where” search tool.

Thank you for Attending the Mayor’s Levee

Thank you to everyone who joined Mayor Ross Kentner for the 2026 Mayor’s Levee and helped kick off the new year together. The event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with Council, reflect on the past year, and begin celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Municipality of Meaford’s amalgamation. We appreciate all who attended and helped make this long-standing community tradition a success.

Putting a Bow on A Magic Christmas in Meaford

Thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s holiday campaign and helped spread community spirit across Meaford. We’re pleased to congratulate Scheifele Erskine & Renken Law as this year’s wreath contest winner, and Anita Krieg, as the recipient of the Give the Gift of Meaford prize. Your participation helped support local businesses and celebrate the season, congratulations to our winners and thank you to all who joined in!
