EVLT Celebrates 35 Years of Conservation...
Celebrations planned throughout the year

In March 1981, a handful of citizens formed the "Eagle Valley Land Conservancy." That year, Vail Resorts (then Vail Associates) was 19 years old, the Town of Vail 15, and Beaver Creek had just opened. The Vail Valley was blossoming into a year-round destination with world-class skiing, rafting, golf, trails, and burgeoning cultural offerings, all against the backdrop of the forests, mountains, rivers, and ranches of Eagle County.

Visionary citizens understood the need to get out in front of the development pressures from the inevitable tidal wave of population growth that was sure to come, in order to protect the valley's special places.

EVLT Celebrates 35 Years of Conservation

On March 1st, our Kickoff Party was the first of many occasions in 2016 when we'll mark this important milestone. Founders, original board members, and longtime supporters joined us to celebrate our accomplishments and explore the future of land conservation in Eagle County.
Welcome Jessica Foulis!

EVLT has hired and is excited to welcome long-time local and EVLT friend Jessica Foulis as our new Stewardship Manager. She will monitor our conservation easements yearly and also coordinate several community hikes, help with events, and tend our Future Conservationists Program in collaboration with our partner organizations.

For three days, Colorado land trusts met to discuss the latest in land conservation news, best practices, and more. Our state has many fantastic land trusts doing great work to protect the most important land, water, and ranches in our diverse communities.
