Celebrating 50 years 1972-2022
If you’re looking to take a break from your daily reality, here’s something fun to think about.
2022 will be Circle Craft’s 50
th
anniversary, an occasion which will merit much celebration. Here are two early ideas for how we can mark the event – both of them creative challenges that we’re setting for our members. We’re hoping that you’ll find them to be happy distractions during these gloomy days.
Circle Craft 2022 50
th
Anniversary Show
We’re planning to host a 50
th
anniversary exhibition of members’ work with the theme of:
Celebration, Memories, History, The Tools of Your Trade, Process, Story, Reflection
We will exhibit
one
piece of artwork from participating artists. Your challenge is to create something spectacular that represents what fifty years means to you and your craft.
Circle Craft Memory Book
Do you have a Circle Craft story to tell?
We will be creating a digital catalogue of members’ stories and images to accompany the 50th anniversary exhibition. The stories could be a personal memory of the store or Christmas Market, a great or unusual sale or commission, or what it means to you to be part of the Co-op.
And of course, we would like to have visuals to accompany the stories so please dig deep into your photo albums or computer and look for images that illustrate Circle Craft through the years. If you have photos of you in your studio, of exhibitions, or of your booth at the Market we’d love to see them.
We will be soliciting entries for the Memory Book from any and all Co-op members, both past and present. We’d love to hear your personal tale.
Hopefully these two challenges will be just the thing to get you cracking on a new project - something to get your creative juices flowing and offer a healthy distraction from pandemic news. Over the next few months, we hope to solidify plans for other events that will make 2022 a year of celebration.
As always, please feel free to contact the Board at board@circlecraft,net if you have questions about these particular events, other ideas or thoughts on anniversary celebrations – or about anything else about the Co-op.
Warn Regards.
