Catholic Charities NH Acquires Liberty House
Catholic Charities NH acquired Liberty House, building on our commitment to serve and protect the most vulnerable throughout New Hampshire. Since 2004, Liberty House has provided substance-free transitional housing and recovery services for homeless and at-risk veterans, as well as food, clothing and other forms of assistance for hundreds of other veterans in need.

Now a program of Catholic Charities NH, we’re excited to bring lasting, positive change to even more veterans. Liberty House will move into a building currently owned by Catholic Charities, tripling the capacity of its existing transitional living program and doubling the space for various recreational, community and outpatient services programs. Watch for more details on specific plans in the coming weeks!

The photo at the top was taken from the 1956 Annual Appeal. We helped care for more than 746 children the previous year!

The next photo is from one of our earliest days - a newspaper clipping announcing the selection of John McLaughlin, president of the Smith Box company, as chairman of the 1947 Catholic Charities Annual Appeal.
