Richard Ellsworth Thayer - A Celebration of Life

After a long and valiant fight with an extended illness, Richard Ellsworth Thayer, a corporate attorney and family man who had worked in the banking and communications industries across the country, passed away peacefully at his home in Boulder early Monday morning. He was 65.
The family has requested that, if attendees are inclined, to bring a story to share and one to leave. Rick loved it when people talked about him.

The McIntosh County Shouters are Master Artists of the Ring Shout,
a nearly extinct art form carried to the United States by enslaved Africans. It is a historical narrative expressed in a unique fusion of dance, song, and percussion. Join us in making this unique cultural event

Children GOING INTO 1st through 5th grades may leave with Deborah
or the designated teacher to spend the sermon time in an activity.
They will return to worship during the Invitation to Community Life.
Middle and High School youth are invited to attend worship during
the summer.
Regular Sunday School resumes on Welcome Sunday, September 8th.

Next Steps for Communities of Calling Initiative
|
From June 23rd to June 26th, Charley Rastle, Julie Griffitts, and Chris Braudaway-Bauman will travel to the Collegeville Institute in Minnesota
to meet with representatives from thirteen other congregations across the country to prepare for the next phase of our five year project exploring what it means to be a Community of Calling. They will bring home a plan
of reflection and action for the coming year as we continue to explore how we can more fully discover and deepen our sense of God’s calling
in our lives. Go

Neighbors Helping Neighbors in Need

Since 1918, EFAA has been the community safety net for families
who have nowhere else to turn when they can’t meet their basic needs. EFAA has a current need for volunteers in a variety of different places within their organization, they are looking for folks to help out in the food market, at the front desk, in our children’s program, and more.

and will remain open 9 am - 4 pm Tuesday through Friday.

up garbage at his own residence, a Task Force is now meeting through September 30th to propose an effective community oversight board to City Council.
