The Back to School Palooza

This past Tuesday, the Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences hosted the Back to School Palooza to celebrate the start of the Spring 2025 semester.

Students enjoyed delicious walking tacos, participated in games, connected with student organizations, and built camaraderie, fostering a strong sense of community to kick off the semester.

Dr. JP Andrade

Assistant Professor of Animal Science

Ms. Madylin Mocyzgemba

Administrative Coordinator IV

Why did you choose WTAMU?

Dr. Alward: "I chose WTAMU because of how welcoming all of the faculty, staff and students are, and so that I could be part of a community that puts emphasis on student success and providing them with hands-on experience and practical knowledge for their future careers."

Dr. Andrade: "WTAMU's location is truly unique! Situated in the heart of the nation's fastest-growing dairy industry and home to the largest beef cattle herd, it offers unparalleled opportunities for a young faculty interested in beef and dairy cattle reproduction like me. In addition, the alignment of Panhandle's values with my own (commitment to family, faith, hard work and service to neighbors) further solidifies my choice."

Ms. Mocyzgemba: "I chose WTAMU because of the people and the culture of the campus. WT is family-oriented and you can truly see that their students are their priority."

What are you looking forward to most while being here?

Dr. Alward: "I am looking forward to offering hands-on learning opportunities for students interested in the dairy industry and partnering with dairy producers to investigate avenues to increase sustainability and efficiency of dairy operations."

Dr. Andrade: "I look forward to contributing to the growth and development of the Texas Panhandle community through my teaching, service, and research."

Ms. Mocyzgemba: "I am looking forward to continue learning and growing in my position but to network with those around me."
