Empowering Justice-Impacted Women Through HUD Rapid Rehousing
We are thrilled to announce our honored partnership with HUD to bring forth the HUD Rapid Rehousing Program in New Orleans. In collaboration with HUD Rapid Rehousing, The LOHM is actively working to rehouse justice-impacted women and their families facing homelessness with the primary goal of providing stable housing swiftly.
Last week, with the help of our partner, Unity of Greater New Orleans and the diligent work of our New Orleans Rapid Rehousing case manager, Demetrice Morris, we successfully housed our first HUD Rapid Rehousing participant. After being unhoused for fours years, Autumn West and her 18-month old daughter moved into their beautiful, brand new one bedroom apartment.
This placement is just the first of many. Together, with the help of our partners, we are committed to swiftly providing stable housing for justice-impacted women and their families experiencing homelessness.
Participants receive housing, relocation expense assistance, and rental support for up to a year. The program also offers comprehensive case management and supportive services, including job training, mental health counseling, financial literacy, education opportunities, and access to programs offered by The LOHM. Visit on our website in the coming months for more details and registration information.
