Greetings!

This week we're presenting UMass Amherst Fine Arts Center, Bannister Gallery and MFA Boston.

The history of art in the United states is inextricably linked to the contributions of Black artists of all mediums. This week, as Black History Month comes to a close, these three exhibitions highlight three artists, alive and dead, whose artwork explores race, power, human frailty, the mythology of the American South, family life and labor.

This is the second stop for Ali's drawings, which are in ink, colored pencil, marker, mixed media and more. There will be an artist talk on Wednesday, April 9 at 6 p.m. The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m., and the from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month when UMass is in session.
