As we near the end of Black History Month and take pause to honor our innovators of color, we're mindful that we're also entering into an energized continuation of community-wide efforts to pursue equity and opportunity for all. We recognize that Black entrepreneurs, innovators, and business leaders have often been excluded from our history, and we're reminded of the vital contributions they've made to our city. We're dedicating this newsletter to celebrating and amplifying the great work of Black innovators in Chicago — an important effort we're committed to fulfilling all throughout the year.
Chicago Innovation is dedicated to ensuring that innovation is for everyone. To do that, we will continue to learn about Black history, which is American history, and celebrate and recognize Black innovators. We encourage our Chicago Innovation Community to make an effort to support Black companies — you can find a list of Black-owned companies here.
