Ascension Lutheran Church, Shelby
Christmas Week 2021
Christmas Fellowship
after worship Sunday, December 19
The congregation council invites everyone to gather after worship for a meal this Sunday after worship. Shelby Cafe is providing the baked ham, green beans, and mashed potatoes and we hope you'll bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share and enjoy fellowship together. Please plan to join us this Sunday.
Longest Night Worship
7 p.m. Tuesday, December 21
For those who have experienced loss, the holidays can be a particularly painful time, stirring up grief in acute ways. Our “Longest Night” service is observed on December 21st, the Winter Solstice, which is the longest night of the year. The service is designed to provide space for prayer, reflection, and remembrance amidst the holiday hustle and bustle. We hope this worship can be a gift, providing a space of calm, quiet, and healing.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship with Special Music
Join us for candlelight worship with Holy Communion on Christmas Eve night at 7 p.m. Special music will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Shelby Brass and soloist Catherine Mae Lilly joining organist Steve White.
