Dear Friend of KIPP Baltimore,

We've had a busy start to spring here at KIPP Baltimore! Last week, KIPPsters engaged in conversations about financial planning, commercial banking, and student advocacy. Students even learned how to properly use a stethoscope and checked their fellow classmates' heartbeats! KIPPsters were also exposed to various colleges and universities that our very own alumni attend by listening to personal student interviews and completing activities.

These activities, and more, were facilitated by more than 30 local leaders who led guest lessons during our annual College & Career Week.  Thanks to the generosity of our College & Career Week sponsors, M&T Bank and McCormick & Company Inc., our KIPPsters learned about our guests' journeys to and through college and career, challenges they overcame on their career path, and the importance of giving back to your community.

Lisa Hamilton guided KIPPsters to create their personal mission statements.

Nicole Baker inspired our young ladies in PETALs and Black Girl Magic to become future news anchors.

Joel Monroe encouraged our KIPPsters to work on techniques to reduce and cope with anxiety.

Alicia Wilson discussed the importance of internships and networking in high school and college.

We are so grateful to our guest teachers who shared both their time and talents with our students!
