This year, GardenShare teamed up with the WISER Center at SUNY Potsdam to say thank you to our friends and neighbors who are so integral to our efforts to solve hunger in St. Lawrence County and nurture a strong, vibrant local food system. This event, made possible through grants from the Corning Foundation and the Alcoa Foundation, featured guided tours of the WISER Center, a social hour highlighted by the live music of the very talented, Doug Rubio, and the dinner and award ceremony featuring exceptionally well-prepared, locally sourced food, and of course, our honored guest of the evening, Gloria McAdam. As our former, much beloved Executive Director, it was an honor and privilege to recognize Gloria for the hard work, dedication, vision and passion she brought to her leadership role here at GardenShare. With almost 100 people in attendance, we think it is fair to say she made an impression during her tenure with the organization. Thank you to all who attended the event, broke bread with us and helped us honor and pay tribute to Gloria with the much-deserved Growing Community Award. We are reminded once again, just how special this community is.
