Celebrating Direct Support Professionals Week
Fidelity House CRC Community,

This week, along with nonprofits across the state and nation, we celebrate Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week. It's one week during the year, in which we are reminded of the tremendous effort and dedication of direct support professionals (DSPs). I want to thank each and every one of our direct support professionals for your hard work and dedication to the people we support. Over the past 18 challenging months, you have helped keep people safe and engaged. Unfortunately, the challenging times with this pandemic are not yet over. However, I am confident, that because of your efforts, we will not only maintain the level of safety we've achieved, but we will continue to support people to grow and thrive within their homes and communities. As we celebrate DSP week, I want to thank you, and I want to make sure you know how appreciated, valued, and respected each of you are.

Our Direct Support Professionals are truly everyday heroes.

With sincere thanks,
Brad Howell

A Message to DSPs from Brad Howell, President & CEO
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL?

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide direct support to people with disabilities in their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). DSPs ensure that people are able to live healthy, safe, comfortable lives, while still exerting the highest level of independence possible. At times, direct support work can be physically, mentally, and emotionally grueling. But as difficult as the work can be, many find that it can be equally rewarding. Not everyone who provides direct support is called a "Direct Support Professional." However, 335 FHCRC employees, no matter their job titles, are involved in delivering direct support in some way, shape, or form to the people we serve.
Recognizing and Thanking our Direct Support Professionals

Fidelity House CRC currently employs 335 people who provide direct support as part of their roles. This week, we are delivering gifts to each of our group homes and work locations.

Thank you DSPs!
