Festival of Lights: A Diwali Celebration

Diwali is celebrated by millions and millions of people across India and the world. It is a festival of new beginnings, of the celebration of light over darkness, and a chance for auspicious beginnings. 

Come paint clay diyas, make a bracelet, do a colouring sheet, learn how to wear a sari, and more!

Everyone is welcome to this event; there will be activities for all ages.

The library’s Teen Advisory Committee (TAC) is made up of teens ages 14-18!

As part of TAC, you will help advise the library on services to teens in Squamish, plan programs, help library staff with programs and projects, and get volunteer hours!

Tuesday / October 21 / 3:30 - 4:30 pm

At Family Hour, kids in grades K-3 and their families are invited to the library for an hour of fun!

This week we will be making sensory bags!

Wednesday / October 22 / 7:00 - 8:30 pm

There is a chill in the morning, and a crispness to the air at night. Summer is coming to an end, and fall will shortly be upon us. What next for your garden?

Join Harriet, Squamish CAN's School Farm Manager, to learn how to achieve all that and ask your questions.

Thursday / October 23 / 6:30 - 8:00 pm

Gather for a cozy night of Trivia Murder Party at the library! There will be snacks, comfy seats, and a delightfully creepy trivia game.

Friday / October 24 / 1:30 - 3:30 pm

Come watch a matinee with your family for this Pro-D Day!

We will be hosting a screening of Coco (2017 - rated PG). Popcorn will be served.

Join Eddie Carter of Race & Co and James Sparling of Vocari Financial Solutions for an insightful introduction to Estate Planning and the Tax Benefits of Charitable Giving.

This program is hosted by Sea to Sky Hospice Society and the Squamish Community Foundation.

Sue Bansen and Ellyn D’Uva: Eagles & Ecosystems

Ellyn's wood scultures explore the intricate relationships within natural ecosystems, drawing inspiration from her past scientific studies on topics ranging from Arctic permafrost to coastal predator-prey dynamics.

Sue's wildlife photography is driven by a deep love for observing animals in their natural environments. Her quiet patience and intuitive understanding of animal behavior allow her to get up close and capture intimate, expressive moments that reveal the true essence of her subjects.
