PREPARING FOR SUNDAY
I give you a new commandment,
that you love one another.
Just as I have loved you,
you also should love one another.
John 13:34
Open our hearts to your power moving around us and between us and within us, until your glory is revealed in our love of both friend and enemy, in communities transformed by justice and compassion, and in the healing of all that is broken. Amen.

News about Sunday
The Rev. Canon Wamsley will be preaching at Sunday's 10:00 AM service. He is The Canon To The Ordinary For Evangelism And Administration. This role requires a firm understanding of diocesan operations, congregational resources, and policies and procedures. In addition, he provides direct support for Evangelism ministries, initiatives and programs. Everyone is invited to greet and meet the Canon after the service during the coffee hour. It will be a great opportunity to ask questions and share comments. Please plan on attending to enjoy the food and fellowship!

Gather as Usual
Children continue to build Lego stories (using a Midrash approach) to interpret Bible stories about Jesus' life and teaching. Eventually, the children will create a collage that they will share with everyone at St. Martin's. Sunday School and nursery will begin at 9:30 a.m. and any adults are welcome to join us as the scenes unfold.

Let's "SPRING" into Action!
One of the challenges facing the residents of Highland Homes is keeping their children engaged in activities which will help them feel a sense of community and keep them out of trouble. To this end, a young woman began a drill/dance team for the young girls. Known as The Little Divas, eighteen (18) girls participate through regular practices and performances at community events. This year they are hoping to purchase new uniforms for their performances. A complete uniform consisting of a shirt and shorts will cost $39.00. During May, we will begin a collection to help them reach their goal. If we can sponsor 10 girls, that would help more than half of the performers! Please be a Diva Donor. More information about this group will be available in The Gurley Room, and if you have any questions please contact Pam Faber.

A Midweek Gathering
The next Upper Room gathering is on Wednesday, May 22nd, at 6:00 PM upstairs at the Gryphon Café, 105 W. Lancaster Ave, Wayne. The questions for discussion are "No Risk, no Reward? What does 'risk' mean to you? Are you afraid of it? Can you move forward in your life without it?" Stop in on any 2nd or 4th Wednesday for some interesting conversation and fellowship.

Joint Celebration!

A picnic will follow the service and include food, drinks, games, and lots of fun and fellowship! Remember to wear red to symbolize the joy and fire of the Holy Spirit. Sandwiches and beverages will be available. CCI attendees are bringing side dishes and we are responsible for desserts.

Sessions Continue in May
Join members of Christ Church, Ithan, and St. Martin's as we continue to explore the parallel Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. The next Bible Study will be Wednesday, May 22nd, at 7 p.m. at Christ Church in Ithan Hall. Newcomers are welcome! Each Wednesday night session stands alone as we compare the same story told by each of the different Gospel writers. This approach provides us with a fresh perspective on the stories of Jesus' life, ministry, and teaching. Copies of the book
"Records of the Life of Jesus" are available for anyone to use. We'd love to have your voice in our spirited and spiritual conversation. We will continue having the Bible discussions at Christ Church for the month of May, before switching back to St. Martin's for the month of June.

Take Note!
Single Service Sundays will begin on Sunday, June 16th. There will be one service celebrated at 9:30 AM through the summer until September 15th when we return to two services.
