2025-2026 Teachers of the Year and Principals of the Year Announced

Named as 2025-2026 District Teachers of the Year are Kira Neal from Pontchartrain Elementary, Michelle Day from Bayou Lacombe Middle, and Rachel Senez from Covington High.


The 2025-2026 District Principals of the Year are Katie Singleton from Mayfield Elementary, Laura Haggard from Lancaster Elementary, and Christian Monson from Mandeville High.


Christian Monson has also been selected as semi-finalist in the 2026 Louisiana Principal of the Year program held by the Louisiana Department of Education. He is among 24 principals selected to continue in the competition for Louisiana Principal of the Year.

2025-2026 New Teacher of the Year Announced

The St. Tammany Parish Public School System (STPPS) is proud to announce that Madeleine Abadie of Lancaster Elementary has been named the 2025-2026 District New Teacher of the Year! The Louisiana Department of Education’s New Teacher of the Year program celebrates exceptional first-year educators across the state, and STPPS is excited to take part in this initiative for the first time.

STPPS Student Named State Student of the Year Finalist

Mayfield Elementary fifth grader Lauren Singleton has been selected as a finalist in the state’s 2024-2025 Student of the Year competition!


One fifth, eighth, and twelfth grade student is selected from each of the state's eight regions to move on to compete in the state level competition.

Building Futures, Securing Tomorrow

On May 3, 2025, St. Tammany voters will be asked to approve bonds to upgrade schools, remove all academic portable classrooms, build a Healthcare and STEM Innovation Center, and make necessary improvements to school security, transportation, and technology across the district, all with no projected increase in the bond millage rate currently being levied.

2025-2026 New Student Registration Open

New student registration for the 2025-2026 school year is open online. The portal will remain open through May 15th and will reopen July 24th.


Current STPPS students do not have to register again unless transferring to a different school in a different attendance zone due to moving.

Champion Award

Superintendent Jabbia is continuing his mission in 2024-25 of recognizing individuals who go above and beyond and are true Champions for our students!
