Dear Bishop Moore Catholic Families,

We celebrated having our 9th and 10th graders back on campus and virtually today. If you are a parent of a 9th and 10th grader, please give them a big thank you from us. Students were following directions, flexible with changes, and kind towards their peers and teachers. We threw a lot of new things at them, and they handled it very well.

Tomorrow, we look forward to seeing our 11th and 12th graders!

Please read the reminders and procedure updates below so that we can continue to work together for a successful start to what we know will be a great school year.

Reminders & Updates
From Student Services
Parents, we appreciate your patience as we are working through many new procedures to ensure the safe arrival of our students at the start of the school day. Parents and students may be required to wait if they come to Student Services at the start of school, seeking help with an issue.

Students with Injuries
Friendly reminder that students with injuries must complete this form prior to coming to school.

Student Arrival
Upon arrival to school, students will be sent to locations that are specified for their grade level. We want to avoid large congregations of students during arrival drop off.

9th & 10th grade students upon arrival should head to Courtyard and Cafeteria.
11th & 12th grade students upon arrival to school should go to the Pines

Supervision in the AM
While on campus, students will be supervised at all times. This is an important way for BMC to ensure that safe practices are taking place and that CDC recommendations are being followed. In addition, it allows our deans and administrators to interact with our students and get to know them better.
You will find the following staff in each area of the campus during the morning arrival:

  • Student Services: Dean Mehlich
  • Cafeteria Courtyard: AP Mr. Mazzini and Dean Belden
  • The Pines: AP Mrs. Toro and Dean Kane
  • Gym Awning: Dean Gorden
  • Drop off: Dr. Wikstrom and AP Mr. Snyder

Meet BMC's School Nurse
Hello, my name is Emilee Smith.
I am delighted to begin my 4th year as a school nurse and I feel so blessed to be welcomed at Bishop Moore Catholic as the first school nurse on campus. Prior to working as a school nurse, I provided nursing care as an RN in the Pediatric Department at a local hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I obtained my B.S. in Nursing through the U. of Wyoming. My education is a continual process; I strive to stay up to date with the ever changing field of medicine, so I can provide my students with the comprehensive care they deserve.
With the addition of a school nurse to campus, it is my hope that I can be a resource to all students, parents, and staff – particularly as we navigate the infection control protocols with Covid-19. As a school community, we are following the recommendations of the CDC and the Florida Department of Health. I am here to ensure the health and safety of the student population. I appreciate the support and collaboration of Bishop Moore Catholic's families as we work together to create a school environment focused on protecting the health of ourselves and those around us.

This will be a time of problem solving as we adapt to the many changes in social interaction as a means to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Please contact me if you have any concerns about your student’s health. My email is The health office will be open from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM daily with coverage for emergencies outside of office hours. I look forward to serving the wonderful students, staff, and parents at BMC!
