By the time Ziggy came to us, the 3-month-old kitten had already experienced a lot of adventure in his young life. Found hiding in a car engine (yes, you read that right!), Ziggy was brought to HSSC by some compassionate good Samaritans.  

At first, Ziggy was a little nervous—understandable, right? But with time, this brave boy started to show us his playful, curious side. He was soon chasing toys and exploring, but still wanted cozy hidey spots when he needed a break from the action. We were thrilled when our sweet boy “parked” himself with an adoring family committed to helping him feel safe and loved.  



“Just wanted to update you on our wonderful kitty Ziggy! He has blended in seamlessly and we feel so blessed by the joy he has brought our family! Thank you, Humane Society of Sonoma County!” 

Despite their names, Bedlam and Kerfuffle are two adorably shy, look-alike kitties who prefer the slow approach. During their time with us, they roomed together and became more confident and playful by learning from one another. Once they were available for adoption, it was almost like fate intervened for these copy-cat cuties.

Karrie Stewart, HSSC’s Senior Manager for Santa Rosa Adoptions and our Healdsburg Campus, describes: 

“Bedlam and Kerfuffle each went home today, remarkably at the same time to two different families. The catch? The two families happen to know each other, are all teachers in Sonoma County, and were here to adopt at the very same time! We did it as a double adoption (2 at once!) just to keep the fun going. Happy trails to these two kittens and congratulations to their respective families!” 

We love getting updates from our adopters! And getting adorable photos is just the frosting on the cake! We couldn’t resist sharing these sweet photos of precious kitten Pepper in her new home.
