Dear friends and neighbors,
This week, we celebrated the end of Hispanic Heritage Month at the White House. I'm proud to work with the Biden-Harris Administration on jobs, education, healthcare, environment, immigration, and so much more to improve the quality of life of Latinos across our nation.
House Democrats continue to stay united behind Leader Hakeem Jeffries in charting a bipartisan path forward in the Speaker race. We must come together to continue our important work in Congress for the good of the nation.
In the district, we participated in a great roundtable with UnidosUS to discuss the importance of homeownership and the need for more affordable housing for the Hispanic community. As more families move to Central Florida, we’re committed to working with local organizations to address these challenges and make our district a more affordable place to live.
I met with local Jewish community leaders and the Anti-Defamation League to reiterate my support after the heinous attacks on Israel by Hamas terrorists and the recent wave of antisemitic incidents in Central Florida. We also condemn Islamophobic actions seen across the nation. We must stand against all forms of hate.
I'm proud of our accomplishments this week and look forward to continuing our work to improve the lives of Central Floridians next week.

Supporting SAG-AFTRA Workers
|
|
Many components of AI are awe-inspiring, but it can also be disruptive as we're seeing in the entertainment industry and various parts of our economy. In the Energy and Commerce Innovation, Data, and Commerce Subcommittee, we had actor and writer Clark Gregg testify on the harms posed by AI. I reiterated my support for SAG-AFTRA workers and their right to fair wages. I am also working to protect Orlando theme park performers and production workers, as well as promote digital twin development at the University of Central Florida in Lake Nona.
