Celebrating Innovation and Inspiring the Next Generation on National Inventors Day
Invention Convention is a nationally recognized education program and competition that empowers K-12 students to become inventors and problem solvers. Students identify real-world challenges, design original solutions, and develop prototypes while building skills in creativity, collaboration, communication, and entrepreneurship. The program begins in classrooms and regional events and culminates in a national Invention Convention where student innovators share their ideas with educators, industry leaders, and peers.
National Inventors Day, celebrated each year on February 11, honors the creativity and impact of inventors past and present. In that same spirit, Invention Convention helps cultivate the next generation of innovators by giving students the tools, confidence, and platform to turn ideas into action. For GlobalMindED readers, this work reflects the importance of expanding access to innovation and ensuring young people from all backgrounds can see themselves as creators, leaders, and contributors to our shared future.
Also, we will have a special Deeper Dive at GlobalMindED's conference "Dimensions of our Democracy: Celebrating 250 Years and Architecting the Next 250" on Entrepreneurship: From Seed to Scale to Sale with some of the nation’s leading entrepreneurial innovators like Dr. Rebecca Corbin and this year’s Exceptional Award Winner, Stuart Weismiller.
