Over 50 students came over last Friday to celebrate Israel's 71st birthday with Israeli-themed food, a birthday cake, and a DJ who played Israeli music.

This Past Week at Hillel SV

At Hillel SV, Yom Hazikaron was commemorated with a ceremony that included a discussion about its' significance in Israel, memorial prayers and watching the movie Rock in the Red Zone. The movie showed life in Sderot for for Israelis and local musicians and how the conflict with Hamas has shaped the music scene. In preparation for finals at San Jose State University, students came over to study and enjoy homemade hummus and shakshuka.
