With my heart going out with great compassion in whatever direction the most precious teachings have not yet spread, or once spread have declined, may I reveal this treasure of happiness and aid.

Dear Friends,

Today, December 7, we are celebrating Lama Tsongkhapa Day, a celebration of the anniversary of Lama Tsongkhapa's parinirvana. It is celebrated on the twenty-fifth day of the tenth month of the Tibetan calendar.

Lama Tsongkhapa (1357-1419) is one of the most significant Tibetan Buddhist masters, whose studies and meditations in all the major schools of Tibetan Buddhism resulted in the founding of the Gelug lineage. Lama Zopa Rinpoche encouraged students to engage in a variety of practices on this day to celebrate and create merit, including making light offerings.

We'd also like to remind you of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's precious advice to recite Chanting the Names of Noble Manjushri for the swift return of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, which can be added to the Lama Tsongkhapa Day auspicious activities.

Preserving the Unique Dharma of the Lamas

Our 2023 year-end appeal is launched and in need of your support! Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. Please consider making a donation today to help us meet our goal. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

The Lamas' legacy of unique Dharma instruction not only lives on in the work that we do but also in all of us. We aspire to continue our work to safeguard and preserve their teachings as well as to keep them alive and relevant in changing times.

Our website continues to be one of our greatest assets and offerings. Easily accessible and user-friendly, we offer thousands of published Dharma teachings, images, advices and multimedia resources, just to name a few!

Our web editor Sandra Smith posts previously unpublished teachings every month, including transcripts of Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s teachings from the Kopan Courses, lightly edited by Gordon McDougall.

Along with the monthly teachings, Sandy posts new advices in Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s Online Advice Book, which now includes nearly 2,600 of Rinpoche’s precious advices online. You can also find on our website links to foreign translations in eighteen languages, as well as to our monthly eletter archive.

Thank you so much for your support in keeping the Lamas' legacy alive. Please see below the gift we have for you.

One of our major benefactors asked us to dedicate her recent offering to the success of COP28 for the sake of the earth and all who live upon her. We’ve done so with offerings to the Tara statue at the Archive, pictured here.

We are humbled by your continuous support and we thank you for all the hard work that you do to keep Dharma alive in your heart.

Big love,
