When Sponsorship Becomes a Turning Point
Phionah & Precious’ Stories
In our communities, children with dwarfism often face barriers long before they ever reach a classroom—social isolation, ridicule, low expectations, and, all too often, the belief that their lives will always remain small.
Phionah and Precious know this reality personally.
Growing up, both girls were surrounded by voices that told them who they couldn’t be. They were excluded, mocked, underestimated, and at times made to feel like a burden simply because of their stature. School felt fragile. Confidence felt dangerous. Hope felt distant.
The tension in their stories is not just about poverty or disability—it’s about belonging. About whether someone would ever look at them and say, “You matter, and your future matters too.”
That moment came through sponsorship.
Through the Hands of Love Foundation, Phionah and Precious entered a different kind of environment—one where education was consistent, where teachers understood their needs, and where they were valued as whole people, not problems to manage. Sponsorship didn’t erase hardship, but it changed the trajectory.
- Phionah is now studying to become a nurse, with a growing desire to be a source of hope for others.
- Precious is determined to become a lawyer, advocating for truth and justice—especially for children who are often overlooked.
What stands out most in their words is not gratitude alone, but identity. Sponsorship gave them more than school fees; it gave them confidence, stability, and the freedom to imagine a future.
This is the work of the ministry—not just meeting immediate needs, but walking alongside children long enough for transformation to take root.
If you’ve ever wondered whether sponsorship truly makes a difference, Phionah and Precious are living proof that it does. And there are many more children like them—waiting for someone to come alongside them and say yes.
Thank you for being part of that yes.
