The Coronavirus took so much from so many of us.
From me, it took my Mom.
She was strong of spirit, leaving her beloved Naples, Italy,
as a war bride to marry my Dad, an American soldier.
She lived a life of love for family, love of all things Italian
and a belief in the American Dream.
I used to say that I was afraid of no political opponent, no debate and no criticism, but I was afraid of my mom.
She was my daily call, my personal shopper,
my number one fan.
So today, on the first Mother’s Day without her, let me say,
“I love you Momma.”
