Every person is a story. Exploring the earliest chapters of one’s story can arm a person with insights into the roots of his or her strengths and weaknesses and can also uncover buried treasures in the form of forgotten interests, gifts and intentions. Reading books is, therefore, a way of communing with information and narratives that mingle with our own, with the potential of bringing light to the dark places and coaxes new curiosity about ourselves, others and forces at play in the world around us. Every time we read a book, we are expressing an intention to not remain stagnant, to grow, to expand our horizons. Since we are celebrating National Book Lovers Day, I have chosen three books that I believe will entertain, enlighten and strengthen you. I hope you find one or more worth communing with. ONward.
