Celebrating Workers with Disabilities During National Disability Employment Awareness Month

Every October, we recognize National Disability Employment Awareness Month and celebrate the value and talent of workers with disabilities. It is a chance to spotlight workers with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to raise awareness of the disability community as a large and untapped talent pool in the US labor force. This year, the U.S. Department of Labor chose "Access to Good Jobs for All," as the 2024 National Disability Employment Month theme. (Click the image to download a copy of the 2024 poster.) Below you will find profiles of individuals with IDD working successfully in the community. Read their stories and learn more about the benefits of employment. If you or a person you love with IDD is interested in work in the community, NDEAM is the perfect chance to find out more and discover ways you too can find a job you love.
