Our Furry Friends
If you've been to the Hair Ball, you know it's a blast!
If you've not been, this is the year to come!
The Hair Ball is a fun and slightly quirky fundraiser. Each year is different, and once it's over, it's over. This year's Elvis theme will have you dancing and people watching as you enjoy dinner, drinks and great music.
Tickets are just $45 and include dinner and two drink tickets. It's actually less expensive than going out to dinner - and it's for a great cause! Bring your friends. A block of 10 tickets is just $400. Come as you are, or dress during the Elvis era (1950s, '60s and '70s).
Get your tickets today by visiting www.IndyHairBall.org.

Handling Community Cats
Does your veterinary clinic handle feral and free-roaming cats? If so, there are certain procedures to ensure the safety of clinic staff and to ensure the cats are as stress-free as possible. According to
Vet Folio, "Feral cats should not be handled unless they are under a surgical plane of anesthesia. They should be brought to the practice in individual traps covered with a sheet to minimize stress. Cardboard carriers are not acceptable because they allow cats to escape easily."

in need, near or far, SNSI supporters come to their aid. Thanks to many generous donations, we filled an entire vacant office in our building with desperately needed supplies. When Hoosier Hooves and Hounds arrived w
ith a 40' trailer, our volunteers filled it to the ceiling.
Hoosier Hooves and Hounds then delivered a truck and trailer load to Cassat Regional Veterinary Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, for distribution.

Donations are unloaded at Cassat Regional Vet Hospital.

Thanks, Hoosier Hooves and Hounds, for inviting SNSI to be a part of this effort, and thanks to all those who gave to make the donation drive a huge success.

Celebrating a Special Lady's Birthday
SNSI's co-founder,
Joyce Crowell celebrated her
88th birthday in September. Together, Joyce and Winifred (Winnie) Flowers co-founded SNSI in 1977.
They did so in response to a woman's plea for assistance with having her dog spayed. Joyce and Winnie arranged a low-cost surgery for this woman and quickly realized the need when they received 43 additiona
