Building opportunities for sustainable, affordable housing in northern Arizona.

DECEMBER 2025

Home and Hope to Local Families

Dear Friend,

This holiday season, more than 750 households in Flagstaff are experiencing homelessness. For the families we serve, “home” isn’t about decorations or gifts — it’s about safety. Stability. An opportunity to rebuild.

When you make a holiday donation to Housing Solutions, you’re providing safe, affordable transitional housing — along with essential support services — to local individuals and families experiencing homelessness, including survivors of domestic violence and seniors. Your gift helps these neighbors rebuild their lives and regain stability.

Thanks to the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit, your gift can come back to you at tax time: $495 for individuals or $987 for couples filing jointly — a dollar-for-dollar credit against your state taxes.

You choose where your tax dollars go.

You keep your impact local.

You help a family find safety and stability.

Below, you’ll find a short video message filmed at Sharon Manor — a glimpse of the safety and community your support makes possible. We hope you’ll take a moment to watch, and make your tax credit donation today.

Thank you for helping change the story for local households in crisis, both this holiday season and throughout the year. Wishing you a warm and joyful holiday season!

Warmly,

Devonna McLaughlin, CEO

NOVEMBER HIGHLIGHTS

Helping Flagstaff Families Become Homeowners

Since launching on August 1st, eight households have already accessed down payment assistance through the City of Flagstaff’s new CHAP payment-deferred loan program—and became homeowners thanks to this support. We’re proud to administer this program, funded by the voter-approved Housing Bond, which provides up to $50,000 in matching loan funds for down payment and closing costs.

Sharon Manor Holiday Party

The Sharon Manor holiday party was a huge success! Residents enjoyed delicious food, kids opened gifts from the Rainbow’s End Angel Tree, and parents were surprised with gift cards for holiday shopping. A heartfelt thank you to all our donors, especially our private donors, Purina, Lawyer’s Title, and Elks #499 Flagstaff Ladies, for helping make this celebration so special.

Volunteer or the Month

We’re proud to recognize Lynzee as our December Volunteer of the Month! She first joined Sharon’s Attic through a partnership with the Hozhoni Foundation and has been a warm, welcoming presence ever since. Lynzee's reliability and kindness make a real impact. Thank you, Lynzee—we’re so grateful for you!

Now Available: 2025 Flagstaff Rental Attainability Report

Our 2025 Rental Attainability Report is now published on our website. The data shows Flagstaff rental prices holding steady for the second year in a row, but affordability remains a major challenge for Flagstaff families. We invite you to explore the full report and learn more about local rental trends and housing needs on our website.

NOVEMBER IMPACT

Sharon Manor

Last month, 1 Sharon Manor household—a survivor of domestic violence who had been experiencing homelessness—transitioned out of our program into affordable housing. We celebrate this important next step in their journey toward stability and independence.

JoJo's Place

Last month, 4 households experiencing homelessness moved into furnished JoJo’s Place studio apartments, where they have access to on-site case management as they work toward permanent housing. We’re grateful to play a foundational role in providing a safe, stable place for new beginnings.

Vouchers for Essentials

4 households from our Sharon Manor transitional housing program used a Sharon's Attic home goods and clothing voucher, allowing them to shop for essential items and furniture at our thrift store. Thank you for donating your gently used furniture and household goods - it makes a difference!

First Time Homebuyers

4 northern Arizona households became First-Time Homeowners last month thanks to down payment assistance administered by our pre-purchase program! We're honored to help deepen roots in our community.

GRATITUDES

Thank you Rainbow's End

A big shout-out to Vice Mayor Miranda Sweet and her Rainbow’s End Boutique downtown for hosting an Angel Tree for our Sharon Manor kiddos again this year! For over a dozen years, Miranda has brightened the holidays for children and families finding stability and healing from the trauma of homelessness and domestic violence. We are so grateful for her heart for our community and the joy she brings each season!

Thank you Purina Team

A heartfelt thank you to Purina for hosting a holiday bake sale that helped provide gift cards for our Sharon Manor holiday party. Your support gave households on extremely tight budgets the joy of choosing and wrapping gifts this holiday, helping make the season brighter for our families.

Thank you Lawyer's Title

A heartfelt thank you to Lawyer’s Title for helping us provide gift cards for the Sharon Manor holiday party. Your support gave parents the joy of choosing gifts for their children, making this season brighter for our families!

Thank you Elks #499 Flagstaff Ladies

We are so grateful to the Elks Lodge #499 Flagstaff Ladies for contributing to gift cards for the Sharon Manor holiday party. Your generosity helped parents shop for gifts for their children, creating joyful moments our families will remember!

Thank you NAU Social Worker Students

This amazing NAU Social Work Team hosted a thoughtful Trunk or Treat for our JoJo’s Place residents. While there are no children currently living at JoJo’s, over half of our tenants have service animals, and the team celebrated every resident and pet. They raised about $1,000 and secured donations from multiple organizations and individuals, bringing smiles and a reminder of the power of kindness, inclusion, and community!
