Every year, a designated week in September is dedicated to celebrating professional truck drivers across the country. National Truck Driver Appreciation Week pays tribute to all that professional truck drivers have done to help carry us through the Coronavirus pandemic, and keep our economy and communities moving forward. This has often meant sacrificing their own health and well-being, or that of their families at home. As essential workers, their efforts and contributions are deserving of much gratitude and appreciation.

Our Transportation Department works hard logging countless miles delivering essential materials day after day, all while upholding an industry-leading safety record. Please be sure to #thankatrucker from our transportation team, and let them know how much they are appreciated.

Every year, the third week in September is designated as National Construction Appreciation Week to recognize the dedicated, hardworking people in the industry who are instrumental in the development of our infrastructure and facilities. The contributions construction workers make to society are endless and the long hours they work, under often difficult conditions with tight deadlines, underscores just how vital they are to every aspect of our communities.

Our construction crew plays a key role in the development and upkeep of infrastructure in Vermont (and beyond), working on everything from commercial site development, infrastructure including highway, road, airport and bridge construction, utility work, landfill construction, and demolition and dismantling. Please take the opportunity this week to express your gratitude to our talented and hardworking team.

This year, as you can see, National Truck Driver Appreciation Week and National Construction Appreciation Week happen to coincide and fall on the same week! We think that is just perfect, because as everyone here knows, it takes a village to perform the work we do. So, we are taking this opportunity to honor not only our truck drivers and construction crew, but to celebrate every department that makes up Casella Construction. No department exists in a silo, and we value the many interconnected parts that make us who we are and allow us to do what we do.

Our aggregate team works hard every day to mine and maintain our quarries and pits, using heavy machinery and equipment to extract aggregates such as sand, gravel, crushed stone, washed stone, washed sand, winter salt and sand mix, topsoil, compost, mulch, and landscaping stone for use in everyday applications.

Our newest division is a great addition to Casella Construction, as land clearing services naturally complement our construction division. The land clearing crew has been busy working to clear trees, brush, rocks and debris to prep property for a variety of uses and maintain land around utility lines and roadways.

Our maintenance team keeps everything running - literally. From performing regular maintenance on our industry-leading fleet, to executing repairs on our equipment, to arranging rebuilds with manufacturers to extend the life of valuable machinery, to coordinating maintenance records and managing the status of all machines, our maintenance crew does it all.

Our admin team encompasses several departments that work to support the teams out in the field. The Finance Department, Human Resources Department, IT Department, Safety Department and company owners work behind the scenes to make sure that everyone at Casella Construction is set up for success, day in and day out.
