United Way of Greater Waterbury to Host Virtual Stock the Pantry (Through June 21st)
STOCK THE PANTRY
IS GOING VIRTUAL! Stock the Pantry is traditionally an annual initiative that is held to directly help local food pantries stock their
shelves for the summer months. Here at United Way of Greater Waterbury, we’ve had to adjust our plans to help keep everyone safe while still meeting this greater
need in direct response to the effects of COVID-19.

Monetary donations supply more food for people in need and allows for the freedom of food pantries to
buy what is needed most. They’re able to stock their shelves with priority food items, while being able to purchase large quantities at a discounted price. Wondering how your cash donation can help? The average cost of a single meal in
Connecticut is $3.27. You can feed 20 times more families by providing cash as opposed to cans. A $25 donation is able to provide 7 meals to someone in need. Click here to donate: https://www.unitedwaygw.org/give/stp2020

Tamarin Health: Bounce Back from COVID-19 with Tools to Create a Safe Environment
Almost every state in the US has begun their phased reopening. Operating in this environment can feel overwhelming, but it doesn't have to. Tamarin is excited to announce that it is helping businesses bounce back from COVID-19 by providing tools and resources to create a safe environment.
With Tamarin's simple platform, you can:
  • Have an effective testing plan that meets your needs whether an on-site pop up, at home, or clinical setting
  • Utilize Clear to WorkTM virtual badges to ensure a safe atmosphere
  • Easily follow symptom tracking and contact tracing guidelines with an in-platform health questionnaire and attestation
  • Leverage robust HR and HIPAA compliant data for operational decisions such as temporary shutdowns and re-opens
All data in Tamarin's platform is stored in a way that cannot be deleted or changed by anyone. This means there will always be a verifiable, time stamped record of data such as symptoms and COVID-19 status, which is crucial from a compliance and liability standpoint.

Tamarin is already working with employers such as Tejas Productions, a full-service designer and manufacturer of oil and gas production equipment based in Texas:
"As an essential business, we stayed open, and I saw the impact of COVID-19 on my team," said Hunter Follett, CEO of Tejas. "I chose Tamarin because I wanted to protect the health of our workforce. We are now taking a consistent approach in partnership with Tamarin that is reducing absenteeism and helping keep our intracompany infections at zero."

Opening and keeping doors open will require technical and non-technical implementations, which is why Tamarin combines their platform with additional support services.
"My background is in public health and tech - which gives employers an advantage when they work with us," said Kat Kuzmeskas, MPH, CEO of Tamarin. "While I never thought I'd experience a pandemic, this is quite literally what we study and prepare for. Everyone needs to create a safe environment - universities and schools, camps, events - it's more than businesses. We designed our tools with this universal need in mind."

Golden Technology Services Offers 10% Off for WorkWise Training
Golden Technology Services is offering all Chamber members a 10% discount off for WorkWise - cyber awareness online education testing service and OnePhish - a phishing simulator program thru June 30th 2020.
OnePhish tracks and reports employees who receive a phishing email sent out by their company, how they react to it and whether they report this to the appropriate contact within the company. Most companies use OnePhish first to establish a baseline on the company employees. They follow up with WorkWise to train employees on the "best practices" while online. This is then followed by a company sponsored phishing campaign to see how they react when they receive new phishing email(s).
WorkWise consists of nine modules, takes approximately 75+ minutes to complete. You can start/stop at your convenience. At your completion you're given a 25 question final exam and provided a numeric score. To take advantage of this offer, email Justin Golden at justin.golden@gtscloud.com

Quassy Amusement & Waterpark Slated to Open June 20th
Quassy Amusement & Waterpark will kick off its 2020 season on Saturday, June 20, Quassy officials have announced. The park’s traditional April opening was delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The iconic lakeside property will operate under COVID-19 mandates issued by the State of Connecticut, which include social distancing in queue lines for rides and limiting daily attendance to less than normal capacity. The park will require that all guests wear facemasks while on the property.  The state mandates as well as guest guidelines and responsibilities when visiting the park may be downloaded from the top of the home page at www.quassy.com and will also be shared via Quassy’s social media.  “These have been challenging times for everyone,” noted park President Eric Anderson. “We have been working diligently with state officials as well as our industry associations to achieve criteria for reopening. We’re certainly pleased that we can finally welcome guests.”
Buy Online, Come Early
The Quassy official pointed out that visitors will be encouraged to purchase tickets online and arrive at the park early the day of their visit. “Making online purchases will help ease congestion at the ticket booth and arriving early may be in your best interest with the capacity cap,” Anderson added.
In addition, Quassy will be processing 2020 season passes two weekends prior to the June 20 opening. The season pass office adjacent to the parking lot will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 6-7 and 13-14 (Saturdays and Sundays).
Park officials have issued the following guidelines for pre-opening season pass processing:
•          When parking, leave an empty space between you and next vehicle.
•          Two families – facemasks required - will be permitted in the season pass office at a time.
•          Please remain in an orderly line outside of the office with six feet of distance between you and the guests in front of and behind you.
Patience And Guidelines
“We really want to stress that guests will need to be patient and follow the guidelines when visiting. We’ll have queue lines for the rides marked with distancing gaps and arrows along walkways for traffic flow,” Anderson asserted. “Of course, there will be park-wide sanitation procedures done by our staff and hand sanitizer available for guest use. Seating outside the restaurant will also be set up to achieve the social distancing mandates. Cooperation will go a long way in helping us operate during this phase of our re-opening.” The rides, Splash Away Bay waterpark and Quassy Beach will be operating when the park opens for the season. However, the redemption arcade, Bella & Bessie’s Sweet Shoppe and Dog House hot dog stand will not be open during this phase of the state’s plan. Food and beverages will be available at Quassy Restaurant, Splash Away Bay Café, Ice Cream Parlor, fried dough stand and pizza stand.
The park also announced that its traditional July 4th fireworks display has been canceled.
Season passes are on sale now at the park office and through the Quassy website at www.quassy.com .
