New Member Q&A: Marcia Puc, Chef & Health Coach, of Rewind Wellness
I recently had a chat with Marcia Puc, who is the owner of Rewind Wellness, which offers personal and workplace health coaching.

So Marcia, tell me a little bit about yourself and Rewind Wellness.
As a certified integrative health coach I guide and support clients to reflect within themselves so they can be inspired to be the best versions of themselves. It is my belief that we are all born into this world to live fulfilling lives - full of joy, health and humanity. We innately know how to achieve this but somewhere along this journey, modern living tends to derail us. Much of our time as adults is spent on surviving day to day rather than thriving. We work together to build the life you were meant to live.

It’s not all about the food…I work with clients to explore all aspects of their lives as it relates to health. Food and nutrition is only one small piece to the puzzle when it comes to health and wellness. I encourage clients to dig deeper and assess other areas of their lives which often play a much larger role in health than imagined. These include: spirituality, career, social connections, family life, joy, home environment, finances and creativity.

How can a health coach benefit someone?
As your health coach, my main goal is to empower you to take charge of your own health and well being. You are never alone. I will offer you accountability, encouragement and unconditional support in a safe and non judgmental space. We work together on a path of self discovery and goal setting while implementing lifestyle changes to improve your physical, emotional and spiritual well being.

Whether you are challenged by weight loss/gain, motivation to move, stress reduction, or you are working with a clinician to address existing medical challenges, find out if health coaching is right for you! Coaches can help you stay on track, provide a confidential and caring space, hold you accountable to yourself and ultimately reach your goals.

I offer complimentary consultations (30 minutes) for you to share your health journey and to learn more about me and how I can help you reach your goals.

Tell us about how you've partnered with businesses to make their workplaces healthier.
In addition to guiding and supporting private clients to achieve their health and wellness goals, I work with businesses to offer their employees wellness workshops, lunch and learns and cooking demonstrations. These are all in person within the greater Waterbury area. Typically a workshop lasts about two hours and a Lunch and Learn about 45 minutes.  I have predesigned sessions to choose from and can also customize a session based on the businesses' objectives.

O’Rourke & Birch Florists Has Relocated To 1 Chase Avenue In Waterbury
“O’Rourke & Birch has been a one-family-owned business for the past 100 years and has been known as a ‘Waterbury Institution’ for most of those years,” stated Virginia Cookson O’Rourke, owner of O’Rourke & Birch Florists, president of O’Rourke & Birch, Inc., and a licensed Justice of the Peace.

Due to the City of Waterbury’s widely publicized current urban renewal project on Freight Street, O’Rourke & Birch recently needed to relocate due to the project’s demolition of the building where the floral company was previously housed.

“Gratefully,” O’Rourke Cookson stated, “we have moved into the very lovely space formerly occupied by the Orchid Florist at 1 Chase Avenue, plus keep on several of that shop’s highly skilled staff members.” In business for an incredible 96 years, the Orchid Florist closed in 2022 due to the untimely passing of the shop’s longtime owner, John Varanelli.

“Merging the renown of two greatly respected Waterbury floral shops and the expertise of the two floral design specialist teams has created an exceptional opportunity for all of us, and for the customers of both shops,” commented O’Rourke Cookson.

O’Rourke & Birch Florists was originally founded in 1922 as a small shop in North Square at 417 North Main Street by O’Rourke Cookson’s father, John O’Rourke, and her aunt, Marie O’Rourke Birch when Marie was a teenager. O’Rourke Cookson purchased the business from them.

O’Rourke Cookson is a member of the National Society of American Florists, FTD-Florist Transworld Delivery, and Teleflora Inc. She is a long-standing member of the Waterbury Regional Chamber of Commerce, a previous Chamber Ambassador, and a long-time member of the board of directors of the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Business Women’s Forum (BWF). She is also the recipient of numerous community and leadership awards including the 2000 Waterbury Regional Chamber Businesswoman of the Year Award.

It’s Phishing Season Again

Phishing (the attempt for a “bad actor” to get you to respond to an electronic communication e.g., email, text, and voicemail to convince you to provide sensitive information, click on a link or download an attachment that they are a trusted source) continue to plague people and companies in the United States. These cyberattacks are more sophisticated, relentless, and professional than previous attempts.

Ask yourself upon receiving this type of communication: Do I know you? Was I expecting this request, Is this in the normal course of business? Unsure, contact the sender via a telephone number you have for them first.

WorkWise is a suite of cybersecurity topics that increases your awareness and reduces the risk online.

Have you heard about Co-Managed IT Support? If not, you will learn something new today. Most mid-size and large businesses use this type of support!

Here are the top 5 reasons CEOs opt for Co-Managed IT Support:

1. Frustration with their current IT team: CEOs may feel that their current IT team is not responsive or proactive enough in addressing their business needs.

2. Fear of a single point of failure: CEOs may be concerned about the risk of relying on a single IT person or team, which could put their business at risk if that person or team becomes unavailable.

3. Lower costs: Co-Managed IT Support can be a cost-effective solution for businesses that want to reduce their IT expenses. By partnering with a Co-Managed IT Provider, businesses can access a wider range of IT expertise and services at a lower cost than hiring a full-time IT staff.

4. Fear of a cyberattack: Many CEOs are concerned about the risk of cyberattacks and data breaches. They may opt for Co-Managed IT Support when they lack confidence in their current IT person or team to handle these threats.

5. Difficulty finding qualified IT staff: Finding qualified IT staff can be a challenge for many businesses, especially in today's competitive job market. Co-Managed IT Support can be an attractive solution for businesses that want to access IT expertise and services without the hassle of recruiting and hiring IT staff.

If any of these reasons resonate with you, consider exploring Co-Managed IT Support as a way to address your business's IT and Cybersecurity needs.
