Signatures Restaurant, located at 29 Leavenworth Street in Waterbury, celebrated its new ownership with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 26th. Power, Presence and Impact for Women - 8-Week Program Begins October 1
Power, Presence and Impact for Women is an 8-week leadership development program that offers techniques, strategies and action steps that will inspire mid-level professional women to develop the grit to lead, the influence to impact change, and the confidence to pursue her goals without hesitation. The best-fit candidate wants to: avoid a mid-career slump, overcome feeling marginalized and under compensated, build the confidence to pursue roles and functions with a direct path to senior leadership, develop a customized strategy to accelerate her career growth, and access a network of peers and seasoned men and women in finance who will support her and help her navigate hidden challenges in the industry. Fall Program starts October 1, 2019; Spring Program starts April 7, 2020.

Naugatuck Historic Home Tour (October 5)
Are you a Nosey Neighbor? Tour ten of the local historic homes in the Hillside neighborhood. This is a self guided walking tour with volunteers in each home sharing the stories of the homes and the families that lived there. Tour the home of the inventor of Diamond Ginger Ale. Early industrial powerhouses such as Samuel Hopkins and Oscar Warner lived in this neighborhood. See the inside of those houses, you know you want to see homes they built for themselves. Each visitor will get a program with a map and histories of the houses. Advanced tickets are $20 for members, $25 for non-members. Tickets purchased the day of the event are $30 for everyone. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Naugatuck Historical Society at [email protected] or 203 729 9039. The tour is recommended for visitors 14 and up. Tickets can be purchased that day at the Naugatuck History Museum at the Tuttle House, 380 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770.  

Learn About Buying a Home at Mortgage Day (October 7)
Are you Interested in buying a home? Learn everything you need to know at Mortgage Day! On October 7 th, this free seminar will review the home-buying process, renting vs. buying, how to apply for a mortgage, and when to refinance. Main Street Waterbury To Present 2019 Main Street Community Partnership Award To John L. Hopkins, Post University CEO (October 9)
Main Street Waterbury (MSW) will present their 2019 Main Street Waterbury Community Partnership Award to Post University CEO John L. Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins will receive the fifth annual award during a reception at the Palace Theater on Wednesday, October 9, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The non-profit MSW created the award to celebrate the leadership and contributions of the late Stephen R. Sasala, former CEO of the Waterbury Regional Chamber and former president of MSW Board of Directors. The award is presented to a commendable individual whose initiative, leadership, and personal commitment embody the spirit of partnership and community involvement. Quilts That Care 7th Annual Fundraiser (October 10)
Support non-profit organization Quilts That Care with their 7th Annual Fundraiser on October 10th. Enjoy food, beer/wine, music, chance drawings and FUN while you support a good cause! “Fall Into Health” Free Public Event (October 12)
The Northern Connecticut Black Nurse’s Association/The Ungroup Society is hosting a free public health event on October 12 th at Jonathan Reed Elementary School at 33 Griggs Street, Waterbury. The event will be held from 9 AM – 1 PM and will offer FREE screenings, including dental, vision, EKGs, mammographies, podiatry, cholesterol, prenatal, blood pressure, BMIs, glucose, stress, insurance, drug/alcohol/behavioral workshops, medical and professionals speakers, and more! Sacred Heart High School & Middle School 7th Annual 5K Dash to Benefit Scholarship Assistance Program (November 2)
The 7 th Annual 5k Dash for Sacred Heart High School & Middle School will take place on Saturday, November 2, rain or shine. The 5K is a Chip-timed race with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. Race starts at 10:00 a.m. Little Hearts Dash is at 9:30 a.m. The race starts and finishes at Sacred Heart High School Campus.
