Celebrating Our Mentors

The Mentor Connect, Mentor Express, Table Talk and Indigenous Mentorship Programs are designed to support lawyers across Alberta, and they would not be possible without the dedication and generosity of our mentors.

Mentors are the backbone of the programs because they volunteer their time and expertise to guide and support other lawyers, which has a positive impact and contributes to shaping the legal profession in the province.

Some mentors have participated in these programs for several years and many volunteer in multiple programs, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to mentorship. Their contributions are invaluable, and we thank them for giving back to the legal community.

Law Matters Magazine: Call for Submissions for Civility Column

The Law Society of Alberta and The Canadian Bar Association – Alberta Branch are partnering on a new article series for Law Matters magazine to foster conversations on civility in practice.

Have a question about civility or a tricky civility scenario that other lawyers should know about? The Law Society’s Practice Advisors will be writing a regular column with answers to questions and advice on navigating scenarios raised. Please submit your questions or scenarios here. No names or identifying details will be shared in the column.

The Practice Advisors continue to be available for confidential conversations to help Alberta lawyers, articling students, and legal support staff with legal, ethical and practice inquiries. Find out more about the Practice Advisors including the services they offer and how to contact them on our website. We hope this column will complement the work of the Practice Advisors by opening an additional pathway for shared learning and dialogue to support a deeper understanding of civility.
