Student Affairs Colleagues,

As we reach the next milestone in our Student Affairs Training & Development Plan, I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone for your incredible engagement with the Tier 1 training modules! Your dedication to this shared learning journey, as well as your timely registration for the upcoming experiential labs, has been outstanding. To date:

  • 90% of staff have completed all five Tier 1 modules
  • 77% of staff have already signed up for an Experiential Lab

We had 546 staff members in total who signed up for an Experiential Lab by the June 1 deadline. Those employees were entered into a giveaway, and our three randomly selected winners are:

  • Chyanne Bryant | Manager, Advising Services
  • Sherie Ohamuo | Supervisor, Financial Aid Quality Control/Processing
  • Yuki Burt | Specialist, Area of Study Master Advising

I will reach out to each winner individually to let them know what they've won.

If you haven't quite finished your five modules or reserved your spot in a lab, don't worry - it’s not too late. The modules remain fully accessible to you in Workday. Once you have completed them, you can use this link to sign up for an upcoming lab session. If you watched the modules and your course is not marked as complete, make sure you have submitted your Post Reflection Google Form and clicked through all lessons of the course to ensure completion.

Your Feedback Matters

We are actively reviewing all the evaluation and feedback data you submitted during Tier 1. To ensure we are maximizing the impact of these sessions, a synthesized summary will be shared directly with our module facilitators and the Student Affairs Council to inform our next steps. Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable insights.

Save the Date: Tier 2 Training

Looking ahead, we are excited to share a preview of the Tier 2 portion of our training plan. This next phase is specifically designed for, and required of, all of our people leaders (anyone who supervises a staffing table employee within Student Affairs). Please save the date for the Tier 2 timeline. The three modules will launch between July 10-24. The deadline to complete all three modules in Workday will be Friday, August 28. More specific details regarding scheduling and expectations will be shared with people leaders soon.

What's Next?

For those preparing for the experiential labs, please be on the lookout for further communication as your scheduled lab date approaches. We will send out information detailing exactly what to expect so you feel fully prepared.

Thank you once again for your hard work, energy, and momentum as we move forward into this next phase together!

Sincerely,

Emily Demerath

Senior Director, Student Affairs Staff Development
