Thirteen years ago, the U.S. Senate’s unanimous approval and designation of a week in June as National Pollinator Week marked a necessary step toward addressing the urgent issue of declining pollinator populations. Pollinator Week has now grown into an international celebration of the valuable ecosystem services provided by bees, birds, butterflies, bats, and beetles. Last week was Pollinator Week 2020.
As lovers of nature and appreciators of all the important work Bees do in the landscape. We have installed Bee Hives at all three of our offices. Even cooler, we have purchased our hives at three of the last Community Action Fundraising events, Kaleidoscope.
As we started our Beekeeping operation, several of our team jumped in to help. Our Hillsboro Branch Manager, Corey Petersen and one of our Account Managers, Doug Crimin, are our Beekeepers in Hillsboro, Construction Field Manager Lalo Marin is our Beekeeper in Sherwood, and Account Manager Mina Szkodyn is our Beekeeper in Parkrose.
