Celebrating Retirement, Service & 25 Years In Business
|
American Surplus is celebrating a handful big achievements this weekend.
Led by
Bill DiMaio Jr.
and Claire DiMaio,
American Surplus is proud to be celebrating our
25th Year In Business.
A huge accomplishment for a business started from scratch, together they have built one of the
nations leaders in material handling equipment. Home to over 45 employees in Rhode Island, American Surplus would not be where it is today without each and every individual who has walked through its doors. We have all of our employees, customers, vendors, friends and family to thank for our past, present, and future success.
We pride ourselves on the values that being a
family business provides. We consider our employees part of the family & strive to work as a team. At the event we will be celebrating those who have worked here for over 15 years, and there are many more who are very close to that plateau.
A
special recognition for the following people as they have been the foundation of American Surplus and its success.
Russ Surette, who has been with American Surplus since 1993.
Andy Gauvin and
Bill Lizotte both joined the team in 1996 and together these three men are the core and heart of the sales team.
Rob Robbio has moved more material handling equipment than any other individual on the planet. Joining the shipping & receiving team in 1997, Rob has been through it all and continues to lead the department.
Next on the list is
Norm Leonard and
Mario Oliveira who started in 2000 and 2001 and have been the pillars of the fab shop ever since. Our fabrication department is unmatched, one of the most massive departments in American Surplus, these guys move steel around like its butter on a hot pan.
Last but not least is our Production Manager,
Mike Cienava, who started back in 1999 and now runs the beast that is the American Surplus warehouse.
Bill DiMaio Sr., who will be celebrating his
80th birthday on January 28th, and is retiring in 2017, will be
honored on Saturday at our company event in Providence. His dedication to the industry and our business is unparalleled. He has done it all, he entered the business to help his son, and became the general manager & purchasing manager for American Surplus and was a shark in the industry. Following that he spearheaded the marketing program to help the business grow into what it is today. He has spent the last couple years creating an in depth training program that is pivotal to the continued growth and success of American Surplus.
