KMSD School Counselors Are The Best!
The Kettle Moraine School District’s mission of cultivating academic excellence, personal development and citizenship is supported in many ways by a team of dedicated school counselors. This week, they are being recognized during National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association.

National School Counseling Week focuses the public’s attention on the unique contribution of professional school counselors within U.S. schools, and how students are different as a result of the work counselors do. The rockstar counselors throughout KMSD have a tremendous impact on helping students to be successful at school and in life.
KMSD Debuts New District Website
The district is in the midst of transitioning to a new website template for all schools. The district site transition is complete, so please visit and familiarize yourself. The new template offers increased functionality galore - site translation, added channel bar icons, larger slider images with video capability, and more - and we look forward to transitioning each school's site within the coming month!

The new template was part of the district's package with its CMS provider Blackboard, so no additional costs were incurred to improve this vital communications tool. This is just one part of a larger communications plan to continually share KMSD's story with its stakeholders.
On Monday, February 1, 2021, Waukesha County Public Health launched new software that will help streamline the contact tracing process by sending a text or email alert to some residents who test positive for COVID-19. Text message notifications will come from the number “48355.”

The new system gives you two new ways to receive important COVID-19 alerts and will allow you to sign up for weekly COVID-19 updates, including vaccination information.

Putting Art On Ice At Dousman
This week in art, Dousman students embraced the Wisconsin winter and created sculptures from colored ice blocks. The students in kindergarten, second, and 4/5 took turns building with the ice blocks. They problem solved how to get the ice blocks to stick together, showed perseverance when the blocks were a little more frozen than thought, and collaborated to build tall, colorful sculptures outside Dousman Elementary. It was a fun and colorful collaboration between many classes!
