Celebrate Service this National Volunteer Week

The most powerful force in the world is the individual who has realized their power to do good. During National Volunteer Week, we recognize the extraordinary volunteers who dedicate their time, talent, and resources to CARES.

Our community of volunteers inspires us and others to support causes they care about. Thank you for being a force for CARES and for your dedication to funding advanced, innovative cancer research. You give cancer patients hope with your generosity and support.

CARES Employee Spotlight

CARES is proud to recognize the hard work and dedication of two outstanding employees and is thrilled to announce the promotion of Kim Volante and Brielle Francis to the position of National Outreach Manager.

As National Outreach Managers, Kim and Brielle will be responsible for overseeing and leading our Peer-to-Peer fundraising initiatives across the country, building relationships with key stakeholders, and driving our mission to new heights. With their proven expertise, strategic thinking, and excellent leadership skills, we have no doubt that they will excel in their new positions.

Please join us in congratulating Kim and Brielle on their well-deserved promotions!

Erase the Trace of Glioblastoma

Our 3rd annual Erase the Trace cycling event on May 13th is bringing together cyclists of all levels to fundraise for glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) research. Erase the Trace is named to reference both the Natchez Trace Parkway where our ride takes place, as well as the trace margins of cancer cells remaining even after the most successful glioblastoma surgery.

Research endeavors into new and innovative treatments for GBM are underfunded, but together we can change the narrative and bring hope to the 13,000+ patients and families facing this aggressive brain tumor diagnosis in 2023.

It's not too late to get involved! Donate to support glioblastoma research, or join us on May 13 and ride 10-, 30-, or 70 miles to cycle for a change.

National Cancer Control Month

"Cancer has touched nearly every American family, and it remains the second leading cause of death in the United States. During National Cancer Control Month, we call on all Americans to join our movement to end cancer as we know it. By raising awareness of the risk factors, promoting life-saving regular screenings, investing in research, and expanding access to affordable treatment, we can give patients, survivors, and their families the hope and new beginnings they deserve."
