As we celebrate the inaugural Spring National Apprenticeship Week, themed “America at Work: Making America Skilled Again through Registered Apprenticeship,” MSSC is proud to stand alongside partners nationwide in advancing high-quality, earn-and-learn pathways that strengthen our workforce and economy.

This week highlights the critical role Registered Apprenticeship plays in preparing individuals for in-demand careers—and underscores MSSC’s commitment to delivering industry-recognized credentials that seamlessly support and scale these efforts across manufacturing and supply chain sectors.

The Role of MSSC Credentials in U.S. Apprenticeship Models

MSSC is proud to be at the forefront of the U.S. apprenticeship movement through our Certified Production Technician (CPT), Certified Logistics Technician (CLT), and Certified Technician-Supply Chain Automation (CTSCA) programs. These certifications are:

  • Nationally portable and industry-recognized
  • Can be embedded in both pre-apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship models
  • Used as core instructional components for Registered Apprenticeship programs approved by the U.S. Department of Labor

Notably, the core concepts that CPT covers—such as safety, quality, production processes, and maintenance awareness—are broadly applicable and can be effectively embedded into virtually any sector-specific manufacturing apprenticeship.

The Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Registered Apprenticeship and High School Pre-Apprenticeship Program are prime examples of how MSSC credentials can build structured, scalable pathways into manufacturing careers. The CPT credential alone covers 160–170 hours of the required Related Instruction under the 3,000-hour IMT apprenticeship, offering a strong foundation that accelerates apprentice learning.

Broad Utility, Proven Success

The MSSC credentialing system has also demonstrated its transformative impact through initiatives like the Alamo Academies in San Antonio. There, MSSC’s CPT credentials are integrated into both secondary and post-secondary education, supported by leading employers like Toyota and PSI. Graduates earn dual credits, industry credentials, and even job offers—an educational model that is simultaneously closing the skills gap and attracting new business to the region.

Moving Forward

As America recommits itself to a future-ready workforce, MSSC remains dedicated to providing accessible, scalable, and high-impact training solutions. Our pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs are designed to meet the moment—empowering students, supporting employers, and strengthening communities.

Let us continue to work together to advance earn-and-learn models that ensure all Americans have access to meaningful career pathways.
