"“Then followed that beautiful season... Summer....
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.”

Savasana – why it is the BEST pose and perhaps the sweetest (& sometimes the sweatiest) nap?

Savasana might look like a nap at the end of your yoga practice, but it’s actually a fully conscious pose aimed at being awake, yet completely relaxed. Savasana helps us learn how to completely surrender, stop fighting the clock, and make space for peace and harmony to fill the soul.

Usually practiced after an active yoga session, it instills deep healing; however, you can also practice this pose whenever you are extremely tired and need to get back to work quickly. It is refreshing and rejuvenating.

It’s normal for the mind to try to resist this deep relaxation. Savasana is the ultimate act of conscious surrender. It is the easiest pose to do but the hardest to master since you need to completely relax both your body and mind. Yoga is a process of discovery and growth. Be patient, practice, and take each day as it comes. Enjoy your Savasanahhhhhhhhh...

Osteopathy For Infants

Osteopathic treatment for infants is quite common and a population that we as therapists absolutely love to work with! Most often osteopathic manual practitioners will see infants who are considered in good health by their paediatrician, but are having difficulties with sleeping, with colic and irritability, difficulties latching or troubled digestion. Parents often wonder if it may be related to the birth process. Although the baby is healthy, sometimes he or she can continue to feel subtle dysfunction from a delivery that involved the use of forceps or vacuum, induction of labour, or caesarean section. Osteopathic treatment for infants is subtle and non-invasive, and gently works with any unnatural strain patterns found in the tissues. If you have any questions about treatment for infants let us know, we would love to help.

What a perfect day last Saturday for Yoga in the Park ! A Beyond thank you to all of the yogis who came for the outdoor practice, to Councillor Allan Hubley for facilitating this initiative and to Leyette Ross for leading both wonderful classes!
Another great year at Refresh Your Passion with Kathie Donovan. It was so nice to see the smiling faces of some of our Beyond community at the event. A shout-out to Carole and Elaine for representing!
