Celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week

Let's get ready to celebrate our teachers. Next week, Monday, May 8th thru Friday, May 12th, join us by celebrating your child's teacher. Below you will find each day's highlight. 

Let's show our teachers how much we appreciate each of them!

• Tuesday, May 9 - Cookie Day (Bring Teacher's Favorite Cookie)
• Wednesday, May 10- Snack Attack (Bring a sweet or salty snack)

Region Champions at RSAE

RSAE Varsity Boys Soccer Wins Region 6AA Championship

Congratulations to RSAE's Varsity Soccer Team for winning the Region 6AA Championship. The team defeated Timberland High School on Monday 5/1 to advance to the second round of the SCHSL Playoffs. On 5/3 they took a tough loss to Academic Magnet to end their outstanding season. We wish them well as they continue to set a high standard for this young soccer program.

RSAE Boys Cross Country

Congratulations to our Boys Cross Country Team for winning the Region 6AA Championship. Also, a BIG shout out to Jabien Harris for being named the Region 6AA Runner of the Year!

MJROTC Cadets Get Visit and Workshop From Air Force Pilots

JCSD scholars and MJROTC cadets had a unique experience. A visit from an Air Force Recruiter and Space Force Representative, 2^nd Lieutenant (2^nd Lt.) Peter Weber, came with a special surprise. 

2^nd Lt. Weber brought a flight simulator and active-duty Air Force pilots. The pilots allowed our scholars to fly the simulator. It was great for them to get tips and guidance from the military pilots. As you may already know, many of our scholars are already certified drone pilots, certified right in our CATE Center. 

Our scholars, more than 40, asked wonderful questions and took advantage of the opportunity to talk to the professionals. Special thanks to Mrs. Cynthia Hasty for organizing and the United States Air Force Recruiting Office for providing this opportunity.

JCSD Students Featured in This Article and a Music Video!

Last month the CH2 Magazine crew teamed up with Melissa Lane (Jasper County School District Special Education Coordinator) SOAR Special Recreation and the students at the Jasper County School District to produce an article and an anthem video about inclusion; set to Jevon Daly's "What Is Your Superpower?" song.
