CELEBRATING OUR YOUTH

COURAGE. CREATIVITY. DETERMINATION.

Dear GSGC Supporter

August 12th was International Youth Day, a day to recognize the incredible contributions young people are making in communities around the world.

At Global Sojourns Giving Circle, we don't have to look far to see impact. The young people in our mentorship clubs are learning, creating, speaking up, solving problems, supporting one another, and finding ways to make their communities stronger. They are not simply preparing to become the people who will shape the future. They are already shaping it.

To celebrate them, we put together a short video featuring young people sharing their experiences, their ideas, and what matters to them. Their words are thoughtful, hopeful, honest, and inspiring.

Different circumstances. Shared aspirations. And young people with the courage, creativity, and determination to shape what comes next.

Take a few minutes to listen to their voices and see the incredible young people at the heart of GSGC's work. Such an inspiration!

With hope and gratitude,

The GSGC Team

Creative Expressions is more than an arts competition.
It is a celebration of possibility.

Every drawing, poem, dance, invention, song, or story represents a young person discovering their voice and believing that what they create has value.

This is a rare volunteer opportunity and wonderful way to connect with the young people we serve. Your words of encouragement and thoughtful reflections can help contestants grow, build confidence, and see the value in their creativity.

MENTOR MOMENT

Every mentor hopes to make a difference in the life of a young person. But over time, many discover that mentorship changes them, too.

For Talent Muyambo, a mentor with the Sisonke Girls Club, walking alongside girls in her community has transformed the way she sees herself. It has taught her that leadership is not just about offering guidance—it's about becoming someone others can trust, learn from, and believe in.

CLUB FEATURE

A strong sisterhood has developed at Sungomukoshi Girls Club in Livingstone, Zambia. The girls study together, celebrate each other’s achievements, and offer support when someone is struggling. As Mentor Sunga reflects, “Perhaps our greatest success is that they no longer rely only on the mentors. They have become one another’s support system.”
